“02 - Filling the Pit of Doom”

For a few years now we've planned on using the belltower as a covered front porch and locating the front door in the wall of the sanctuary. We're still a ways off from making the porch a reality, but we needed sort out the floor of the belltower so we could frame a wall for our master bedroom. Thus the need to tear out the old wooden floor of the belltower and fill it in with Flowable Fill, a wonderful self-leveling base material that works really nicely under concrete. We had about a 8x8x3 foot deep area to fill up, and the thought of doing that with pea gravel, a shovel and a wheel barrow makes my back cringe. One phone call and a few hundred bucks later and we were good to go in about 2 hours time. Beautiful.
