“Craigslist & a pickup-truck are a dangerous combination”

I watch the "Materials" section of Craigslist pretty religiously these days, and when an ad came up for "4x6x14' Vertical nailers pulled from an old corn crib. De-nailed and ready to go! Approximately 80 left." I got pretty excited. Old? Check. Huge? 14 feet of awesome. Cheap? $14 a piece - super cheap! De-nailed? Well… sort of. It's a gamble with this stuff, but the guy was a very nice farmer making way for building a bigger corn crib, and getting rid of some 60-70 year old wood that had no termite damage or rot and had lived its whole life out doors. Each one weighs about 70 pounds, and they're very straight for the most part. Bargain of the century! The first project they'll go in? Chunky treads for the bridge in the sanctuary.
