Flood Insurance

ust uploaded a few photos from our tiny flood the other day. The village survived relatively unscathed, and I rode my bike around taking pictures as I don't think I'll see this much rain again for a while. There were a lot of people out walking around with their kids, holding them up to see over railings and admire the torrent of muddy water. Thankfully, few people (if any) lost power, so a (working) sump pump could keep the water from getting too deep in one's basement.
As per my most recent post, our basement is almost back to a dry state. The secret is using fans. Lots of big fans blowing 24 hours a day. I tried to get Sally to sit down there and blow on the puddles, but she's not a particularly (wait for it...) big fan of the many legged denizens down below.

We lost our power for several hours the day of all this rain which meant of course that the sump pump couldn't run and water started backing up in the basement. The only thing that saved us was an extra long extension cord running across the street to the neighbor's electricity!

You and Cindy are in Paris?! Sweet. I hope your trip is filled with wine, cheese, berets, and only the occasional rude treatment.

Who ran the tubes to Gay Paree? Mon Dieu!

Have an awesome time - and demand Freedom Fries.
Don't type what I think you're going to type. Kids read this. MY MOM reads this.
