I
'm not going to call it senility -- maybe just diminished capacity. I had the toothpaste un-capped, raised, and was squeezing a nice dollop onto the palm of my hand before realizing I didn't want minty-fresh hair.
Occasionally I go in to the bathroom to take out my contacts, get in there, and figure "Ah, the bathroom - apparently I need to pee." I do so, leave, get in bed and begin wondering why my contacts are still in. I'm beginning to think if you live a life very defined by the locations in which specific activities are performed, you're unable to effectively perform said activities anywhere else (and conversely can only do limited things in those locations). Not that I'm advocating learning to pee in the broom closet, but I've started to feel my days are as programmed as the code I write at work (in the same room, every day).
Tonight Sally and I are heading to Philly to see her brother Randy tie the knot with Allison (on Sunday). You probably don't know these names or people, but if you do then you can wish them well. Sally bought a dress, and I bought a shirt and pants for the occasion. My leather chaps were at the cleaners.
A small update on that kitten I brought home. You know, the one Sally said "We'll find him good home." Yeah... you can probably guess how that ended up. The next time I see a homeless creature I'm going to yell at it and tell it to pull itself up by its bootstraps and get a job and stop being a drain on society. Then go home to a certifiably overpopulated cat shelter. Our litterbox runneth over.
